Mr. Mahmoud Montaser Ibrahim

With more than 38 years of banking industry experience spent in the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), Mr. Mahmoud Montaser is one of NBE's most well-seasoned and experienced executives. Throughout his career, Mr. Montaser has amassed a wealth of knowledge in all areas of lending. During the period August 2013 till September 2017, Mr. Montaser was selected to be the executive Vice Chairman to the National Bank of Egypt. Then Mr. Montaser was selected to assume the position of Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the National Investment Bank (NIB).

Starting Sept. 2014 as the Vice Chairman, Mr. Montaser is leading the day-to-day commercial banking departments; as corporate and syndications, investment, foreign affairs and treasury as well as retail and branches. While directing this effort, Mr. Montaser is personally responsible for a loan portfolio of over EGP 490 billion. In addition, he oversees human resources, CS & QA, PMO and Research Departments. Preceding these duties since he was appointed as the Vice Chairman, Mr. Montaser oversaw the bank's risk departments, operations, audit departments, IT and Administrative Support.

Prior to his current position, he was an executive Board Member and head of corporate and syndicated loans in 2008, being responsible for the supervision and management of the direct and indirect credit portfolio that exceeds EGP 465 billion.

Mr. Montaser was a board member and representative to the NBE in several sectors, such as petroleum, construction and aviation fields, in addition to NBE financial affiliates in Europe and Egypt.

Currently, Mr. Montaser is a Board Member of The Arab Contractors, Banque Misr and NBE - London.
